A step cut diamond features eight lines running down the sides, drawing attention to the center of the stone. The facets are stepped running along its length and width in parallel lines. The diamond facets are usually larger than in brilliant cut diamonds and they are arranged to look like steps- hence the name. Step cut diamonds include emerald, baguette, and asscher cuts and dazzle the eye with a “hall of mirrors” effect.
